The more I know and learn, the less I am able to communicate with others, at least in any positive sense. is this normal

No.

You are clearly doing something wrong.

You should put emphasis on clarification and explanation. You haven't properly understood something unless you can explain in simple terms why it's interesting and what are the fundamental ideas in play to a layman.

I'm actually a mathfag. But seriously yes, you need clarification if nothing else so that you can to yourself the motivation (which needn't be practical, it can be a mathmatician's motivation) behind it.

I meant communication in general, not communicating what I know in an understandable way.

talking is obsolete in this day and age, but it leads to depression and suicide produced by loneliness, artificial friends are not the way to go

Both real and artificial friends are included. Fuck, even my girlfriend and I do love her, still doesn't help.

History major here, this isn't true for all things.

If you ask me about the American War of 1812, there are no simple terms to describe it other than "confusing." For that matter, explaining any historical event/feeling/idea/person in simple terms pretty much requires the disclaimer "there's actually a lot more to it, and if you just give me the next hour of your time..."

Honestly, I think most books are in the same category. A piece of literature is an incredibly complex way to do and say incredibly complex things. If you can explain Moby Dick simply, I don't think that you got very much out of it.

Perhaps OP is trying to say that as he learns the intricacies and subtleties of a particular topic, it's way harder to talk to people that don't quite understand it.
