It was pretty weird. I wasn't expecting footnotes, though I think that's what Infinite Jest is like as well?

I suppose the historical parts were interesting to me, though I could care less about Oscar.

He kept switching story arcs just when I was starting to find one arc interesting. Find Oscar interesting? Well stop reading about him, here's his sister's story. Sister's story getting interesting? Okay stop that, here's their Mom. Than another generation previous, then some guy...who the fuck is this guy? Why is he the narrator? I guess it all worked out in the end but it took me a long time to finish because I kept having to start over and get reinvested in a character's story.

Are there no big fans? I bought this with a B&N gift certificate a few months ago and was gonna read it soon, but /lit/'s opinion seems not even divided, but negative.

I mean, I'm gonna read it anyway, but I'm less excited now
