My two favorite books are The Stranger and dare I say it The Catcher in the Rye, can anyone recommend me any books that have a similar feel to either.

Have you read Slaughterhouse-Five? I just recently have been getting into Vonnegut and altho its been quite a while since I read The catcher in the rye it reminded me of it for some reason. Its also a quick read so I would definitely recommend it.

What do you like about those two? Meursault's indifference and Holden's hate against grown ups?

You might like Journey to the End of the Night. It has a similar ''feel'' as the main character hates everything and everyone on his journey through life.

''Louis-Ferdinand Celine's revulsion and anger at what he considered the idiocy and hypocrisy of society explodes from nearly every page of this novel. Filled with slang and obscenities and written in raw, colloquial language, Journey to the End of the Night is a literary symphony of violence, cruelty and obscene nihilism.''

It's more Holdnen's character; and the chain of events complemented by Mersault's apathy.>>6049951
