Is being 22 too late to start getting into literature?
Asking since your tastes in general are pretty much defined for life after adolescence ends.

I agree, I'm now 28, I re-read books I read at 16 and find completely new layers. Can't wait how it's going to be like in 40 years!

Only for true untermenschen. As a human and generally as a life-form you have the potential to evolve and change throughout your lifespan. Those who throw their hands up and give up at change only limit their potential.

Yes you fucking faggot, you can get into anything at any age. Infact, it is healthy to challenge yourself with new material and experiences, and will make you a more developed person.

so what, you expect to still be into anime at age 52?

i'd have hoped you would have already grown out of it by 22, though.

I started getting into literature seriously when I was 22. I read occasionally when I was young, maybe like a couple books a year but barely anything during my teens. Now I'm reading like 6 books a month and still can't get enough. Its never too late.

I wouldn't rec monogatari for beginners though, because it has a lot of references and meta-ish humor.

No OP. I used to read primarily horror and short stories. I stopped reading for years after dabbling in non-fiction and pseudo philosophy druggie books in my late teens. I started reading last year (I was also 22 actually) again and now my favorite author is william gaddis or jonathan swift. I always had an interest in books, though.
