I believe people should be Christian because it helps them have a more positive outlook to the temporariness of life. The virtues preached by Christianity also had a great impact on our morals and society, mostly in a poditive way. So...why shouldn't you be Christian?

Oh, and let's not forget the whole concept of Heaven and Hell. If you lack any other motivation, you should be Chrostoan because it'll eentually save your soul. Granted, the idea of expecting a divine reward is somewhat un-Chrisitian.

Then again, the Pope mentioned something about how everyone who believes in God will be welcomed by Him to Heaven, even if they're gay or atheist or whatever, as long as their sins aren't too greivous. But l-m also not Catholic, so l guess at this point even l realized l'm talking out of my ass and no nothong about religion. I just have faith. I do think the only reason atheist can be good is because they were brought up in a Christian society. They hold the same values by inertia even if they reject the doctrine that justify them. Also, it is easier to be somewhat moral than to be imoral, even if you don't have a clear moral system. They are smart enough to see that murdering and stealing will be ultimately bad to them. Nobody wants to go to prison or to be ostracized by his community.

But what if you had a Gyges ring? Being able to do everything you want without any consequence or remembrance from anyone. Would you still remain moral? Your average atheist redditor would go out fucking every qt he sees. Would you not do the same?

In the same way, most atheists are in favor of/ok with abortion, homossexuality and euthanasia, things that are in the "frontier" of christian morals. Can you ensure that things like pedophilia and infaticide would never be morally questioned?
