Sadly only 13 unless you count programming books I've read through for work.

Mistborn 1-3
Steel heart + Firefight
Lies of Lock Lamorra
Name of the Wind
CODE - Charles petzod
How do it do (computer CPU/mobo design)ish
The prestige (Christmas gift I couldn't put down)
Fearsome Magics, Writers of the Future 30, & Space Opera (I love short story collections)

I know most of these are just the mainstream fantasy books, but my wife owns them and I hadn't read sf/fantasy in years, so I'm jumping in.

If you guys have more good ones (outside of the commonly linked image) let me know

You can't be serious. 300 in one year is almost one book per day. How the fuck do you have that much time? You would either be NEET or have a consistent 2000 wpm reading speed.

How fast do you read? Because even if it's 500 wpm, which is twice the average of a college student, it would still require 4-6 hours per book. Unless you exclusively read novellas. Or you're studying a fine arts field.

i dont remember them all and they werent too many. i marked about 45 as read on goodreads, but i may not have read them all in 2014 and others i probably forgot. im doing the 100 books challenge in 2015, but im starting with the shortest and then work my way up.

my gf can read a 300 page book in 2-3 hours. so fucking jelly and she wastes it on vampire shit and other YA fantasy crap.

when i first saw her read i didn't believe her, i though she was just skimming and flipping pages. so i gave her crying of lot 49, she finishes it in 1 hour and i ask her questions. she literally read everything and remembers every detail

I can understand read text very well, and I am not that fast reader to skip stuff etc, but shit, I forget details so fast. What I remember precisely though, are the emotions. Fucking weird but books can give me the feels as I read them.

I liked this one a lot. I think it's very well written, very solid.

If you haven't, check
Discworld
Dragonlace
Pendragon Cycle
Malazan's book
American Gods
Time Master saga
The Chronicles of the Black Company
Wheel of Time
The Neverending Story
The Princess Bride
Ursula K. Le Guin
Stephen R. Donaldson
Brandon Sanderson
Robin Hobb
Andrzej Sapkowski
Gene Wolfe
Jack Vance
R. A. Salvatore

Isaac Asimov
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy [and tthe other books]
Rendezvous with rama
The martian chronicles

and I'm too tired to post more.

Dude thanks, I don't get the zealous hate for Rothfuss or Sanderson. They're not god-writers, but they aren't these abominations either.

I wasn't a fan of dragon lance (I read one that was a journal from a war and another that was some native-ish guy versus lizard people), but the rest I will start looking into.

I am finally getting into fantasy after only being a casual SF reader.

I averaged one book per hour. Of course, some weeks, when I had too much work, I hardly read anything, so the week after I had to make up for it by speed reading about twelve books an hour. It was hard going, but I feel worth it in the end. I hope to read every book in history by March next year.
