Epistemology, logic and ethics all take for granted a certain kind of metaphysic. To say : "truth is the object in front of me (ob-ject)" is itself a very big metaphysical statement. To think you think there is any philosophy without a certain kind of metaphysic is a lack of rigor, seriousness.

The term metaphysic is kind of taboo after Kant, but any serious philosopher since the very start of philosophy have propose a metaphysic. If you take a serious metaphysic introduction, you will read names like : Plato, Aristotle, Plotinus, Avicenna, Aquinas, Descartes, Kant, Hegel, Heidegger, Derrida, Gadamer, Sartre, Levinas. They might reject the name metaphysic, but they still do ontology, or talk about "something more real, more truth" and to talk about real and truth is itself very metaphysical.
In both analytic & continental department we think that metaphysic is past, but it's lack of rigor and seriousness, any statement about things talk about most real or truth being (it can be ideas, god, facts) and by doing so, is doing metaphysics. A philosophy without metaphysics is nothing and will be forgotten.
