can we be honest?

reading novels is a pastime for girls. the most avid readers have always been and still are girls, and novel reading was considered a female hobby all the way up to the sexual revolution.

heterosexual men lack the capability to really enjoy novels because they don't engage with the world the way women do: in terms of character and story. heterosexual men read non-fiction because that is how they engage with the world: through facts and logic.

the only reason us straight guys read novels is to be more interesting to girls.
