Parts of Proust were really cool, particularly everything involving the group of girls in the second book.

The second book completely ignored the romantic development and went back to being boring.

The characters aren't amazing either, they all seem really 2D.

Holy shit, in how many other countries did that exist? I was always excited about getting a new book as a kid. They did this thing where you had to piece together a story with the hints they gave you every week with a new book, and write its ending. I started with the blue series as I was pretty young and I couldn't wait to get old enough for the red one. I wish I still had all of my books, too bad they were eaten by rats.

I couldn't think of anything at first, but several books I've read from this series were pretty cute.
