INTP.

the extent of introversion basically just depends on my mood when i take it but its definitely somewhere between 30-40%. the divide for thinking/feeling is pretty arbitrary, i think it comes from my mum whos very extroverted and would definitely be an F, and my dad whos the opposite.

in terms of writing i think that close divide between thinking/feeling means im good at writing analytically (lit crit at uni) but have to make an effort at empathy when it comes to creative writing, its kind of an exciting challenge though

i actually find this stuff super interesting since i took the test so im curious about other people on the board, keep posting frens :)

I'm very impressionable with what I read. Sometimes I feel like literature was specifically designed for people like me. really gets inside of my head. I get frustrated in social situations because the conversation in my mind is more important then interacting with others. truly an outcast.

"INFPs often take their idealism too far, setting themselves up for disappointment as, again and again, evil things happen in the world. This is true on a personal level too, as INFPs may not just idealize their partners, but idolize them, forgetting that no one is perfect."

"INFPs are private, reserved and self-conscious. This makes them notoriously difficult to really get to know, and their need for these qualities contributes to the guilt they often feel for not giving more of themselves to those they care about."

"INFPs sometimes see themselves as selfish, but only because they want to give so much more than they are able to. This becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, as they try to push themselves to commit to a chosen cause or person, forgetting to take care of the needs of others in their lives, and especially themselves."

In other words, INFPs tend to idealize and romanticize their (sometimes long-awaited) partners, assigning them unrealistic traits. This happens because INFPs are often so focused on the ideals of romance and love that when love finally knocks on their door, it becomes difficult to separate imagination from reality."

I'd always call my gf an angel and thought she was perfect. I was not ready for this feel when I first read it.

It's not like I am going to change myself to conform to the INTP standards. I am just asking.

INTP here, I'd say purely rational. But pure rationality can't be maintained constantly.

Lel
i was recently writing an essay of humor for a dumb class assignment and spent like 20 seconds devising a plan to switch the adjectives of voluminous amount (describing air in a container) and pestilant stench (referring to farts ) so that it would seem ridiculous. These two phrases where right next to one another btw. Of course, what didnt occur to me was the futility and idiocy of it since the teacher wouldve not noticed.

do you think posts like this vindicate your taking MBTI seriously? it's indefensible and possibly dangerous

this thread was alright but I didn't like the circumlocutory prose and I think it's basis is unfalsifiable nonsense

it's actually appropriate for once to call a thread topic unfalsifiable nonsense

Now that im not typing with one hand while the other puts popcorn into my mouth, i can tell this other moment of autism which will probably get deketed as soon as this horrible thread dies. On a test i had to write a short couple sentences describing a story using the weeks vocab words. I ended up writing about two men (possibly a writer and his publisher?) who get into a confrontation after one busts into the others office. By the end of it i wrote something along the lines of: He would not give up his stubborn position. The point was to use the noun he instead of a name to allude to both being stubborn not just the one previously mentioned. To claify, one barged into the room and started yelling while the other calmly told him no. Both were being stubborn but stubborn has a negative connotation which would usually only be applied to the angry one while the serene man would be excused. Using they wouldve been too easy and lame. So i wrote it in terms of individuals, not using the both form but rather the either one form. My teached ended up counting it as an error and i got like a 91% or some shit.
