Why do I find this beautiful? It's so pleb but yet moving in how extremely simple and generic it is.

Don't take her for granted, she has a hard time
Don't misunderstand her or play with her mind
Treat her so gently, it will pay you in time
You've got to know she's the sensitive kind

Tell her you love her, each and every night
And you will discover she will treat you right
If you believe, I know you will find
There ain't nothing like the sensitive kind

She gets lonely waiting for you
You are the only thing to help her through
Don't take her for granted, she has a hard time
You've got to know she's the sensitive kind

Because there's a difference between understanding what is pleb and being exposed to enough quality stuff to feel the difference.
You are free to enjoy all you want, some people may be bored of that and so will you one day. But there's nothing wrong with enjoying it while it lasts.

I mean I've been exposed to quality, it just doesn't make a difference. I can read Moby Dick and I still find a plebby thing pleasurable. Because the right kind of pleb is actually appealing as long as it recognizes itself as pleb. Much better than failed attempts at being patrician that only get there half-way.

I'll even say the more "patrician" stuff I consume, the more I appreciate restrained plebness that accomplishes its goal.

I've found myself watching more and more children's television as of late, because the mindlessne better to me than the half-hearted attempts at mindfulness made by more "mature" television. I like my stuff hard and literary, or simple and well crafted, stuff in between starts to stink of shit very quickly if it fails either of these objectives.ss of it is

I think /lit/ has a bit different definition of the pleb/pat dichotomy than the rest of 4chan. It tends to be used more in terms of how demanding the work is. Capote is pleb while Joyce is patrician, for example. In those terms when you get used to more complex and demanding though you just lose the joy from your run of the mill superficial and direct stuff. The more authors you read the higher the bar is set, as long as you are consciously reading and understanding them.
Of course, it's more or less tied to the fields you are interested in. If you don't really care about, say, poetry you won't progress and find both subtler and stronger works.

I still like Bob's Burgers, though, I have no hate against you.

Plebbish. Listen to John Cale instead.
