Paintings you like, maybe high quality and with a little info with them.

Pic: Landscape Near Figueras by Salvador Dali, painted while he was around 6 years old. Influenced by the Impressionist movement.

Yeah, if you want to paint the world a it is, but fail at perspective and light, you fail. If yyou use odd perspective and lighting to make point, you succeed.

Are you this retarded? Really? That painting looks the way it does because von Gogh wanted it to, not because he couldn't get his shit together. Adolf's pantings, on the other hand, try to be realistic and fail.

Nothing wrong with cezanne, or impresinsm in general. Judgin from his style, maybe Adolf should have gotten more into that, if alone because blurring the lines would have concealed his incompetence.

That abstract art would actually require a very good understanding of the human form to produce. Just because it doesn't aim for realism doesn't mean it doesn't take skill. That's like saying chocolate cake sucks because it's not spicy enough. The aim is completely different.

It's an undeniable truth that most of the rightists are more likely to be into Impressionism rather than others like Surrealism, Cubizm or abstract art. But it is also brainwashingly retarded to argue that Hitler's impressionistic paintings are bad.

pic: Hopper had a way of communicating his inner life...feelings of despair and desolation, as well as his sense of beauty...finding them in the buildings and objects he painted. He filled empty rooms with the mystery of existence and his own spirit. In essence, he, like Van Gogh, was painting not just the objects themselves, but turning them literally into self-portraits.

It's much less derivative painting human bodies in such a way, you have no direct reference to work off like in realism and must reinvent the wheel somewhat so to speak. You must have an learned understanding of anatomy in your mind, depicting from scratch multiple bodyparts in abstraction that combine together to make an aesthetic whole that triggers our recognition and appreciation of the human form. It's really not as easy as it looks.

Pic related: abstract art by Emil Nolde, member of the Nazi party.

Dali made a lot of bizarre and extravagant paintings but some of my favorites by him are the ones that are strange in a more subdued way, e.g. pic related, which is incidentally a painting of himself at age 6
