Have any of you ever written a poem for a girl? I have one written for a girl I sort of dated, she's into the poetry, but I think I'll feel like a "beta" type male if I send that shit to her; it's good though, she'll definitely like it, but I might be slammed into being just friends. Ya know, I'm trying to get back with her, anons.

Any of you ever done this? Let me get your experiences, and opinions, please.

post it and we'll tell you whether to send it

Alright, I have to find real quick. It's not entirely done, I don't know why I said it is. Will you help me with it? I don't really write poetry, or really write at all.

Up all night {we would sit up all night}
gazing in her soul
tarnished, but bright,
beautiful indeed.
A whisper
from an angel,
tickled my ear.
My drunken eyes {was drunk most of the time. One night I kept dazing off.}
regained site.

I got nothing else yet, but will soon finish it. plz no h8 m8s

I wrote a sonnet for my high school girlfriend on Valentine's Day. Also the same night I lost my virginity.

Writing a poem for a girl is just like playing her a song on the guitar. As long as its not completely fucking terrible she'll love you for it.

the best way to do it would be to get it published and give her a copy of the publication as a gift, but if she's into poetry then read it aloud to her on a little date. don't just hand her a sweaty, folded piece of notebook paper and hope for the best.

Yep. I was 15 years old and I ended up doing the whole pls respond thing. She confessed to me when I next saw her that it made her really uncomfortable. I sent it on myspace. So thanks for reminding me of that shitshow.

God dammit why do you people not know yourselves. Forget any advice on how to do it, whether to hand her it or read it aloud, just fucking ask yourself how do I want to do it (is this poem better read aloud or in text) and can I do it? If you're having troubles working out whether or not you can "get away" with it then you're not cut out for doing this shit. I made friends with this girl at a weekend thing, she was inspiring enough to fall into the position of a kind of temporary muse for me, I wrote a poem about her, sat her down the next morning and read it to her, we both enjoyed the reading of it, then we carried on talking and bonding, closer through the experience of something dear: sharing time amongst someone's creation [from passion]; there are countless people who if they did exactly the same thing I did [factically] it would just turn out dreadful and awkward, but if you're a poetic person (which obviously you are at least a little bit because you want to do this, you want to express not only yourself and your thoughts in this way, but also express that you want 'to express.not only yourself and your thoughts in this way') that's the key, fucking own it, reconcile yourself and develop that, enjoy being poetic.

I almost wrote a girl a sonnet (it was a bit contrived; not that good), but stepped back from the abyss at the last second and wrote her a normal message instead.

>omg anon that was the nicest gift I've ever received
>not many people are as thoughtful as you are
>let me read the book because I really want to discuss it with you [she didn't]

That feel when she will never love me anyway

I once wrote a poem for a chick's birthday. It was a 78-verses long allegory that optimistically described fragility of most of the stuff that would make her depressed; it was written from the point of view of one of her favourite artists and included some references to mutual contexts of their lives.

she said that she liked it.

I don't see the point of writing poetry for women in an age when you can have sex with a complete stranger within minutes of meeting them

If you want to write it, go ahead, but keep it in the drawer as a warning to your future self. Writing poetry to 'woo' women is a fucking terrible idea. Just invite her out somewhere fun, don't be a faggot.
