Alright I agree that the games shit. But are there any spooky mystery books out there like it?

I like the idea of a family member coming home and finding his/her family missing and there clues hidden around the house.

This sounds mad comfy. Anyone got anything like this? Just a guy exploring his old home and piecing together something that happened there? Kind of reminds me of Eternal Darkness.

"It" or "The Shining" by Stephen King

Also his last book "Mr. Mercedes" was nice.

"The Call of Cthulhu and "Nyarlathotep" are great.

Also, short-stories by Edgar Allan Poe like "The Black Cat", "The Masque of Red Death", "The Tell-tale Heart" and "The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar" are great.

Anything with an uneasy or haunting vibe one could recommend?

In fact, his last book was "Revival". Which is irrelevant because both Revival & Mercedes were simply awful & not creepy at all.

I haven't heard about "Revival", but in my opinion "Mr. Mercedes" was ok. It wasn't scary, but it was a crime fiction novel with an original premise and felt like something that King never did before, so it was a new experience for a frequent reader of his novels.

>Alright I agree that the games shit.

With who? Most people here actually like it, because it's a genuinely good game. You have to have some pretty awful taste to think otherwise.

>> No.5793779

It's like the fucking mumblecore of video games. All it has going for it is decent environmental storytelling which isn't enough to make a good walking simulator.
