How fucking long will we end up waiting for this?

>> No.5777453

Hopefully forever, so that the book series will get spoiled by the television show.

>> No.5777464

>>5777452
It'll be out in the next couple of years, then Gurm will die before he's barely started the next book.

>> No.5777466

>>5777453
The show is going to go in a different direction. They've already done enough things differently that they can go one way and the book can go another. HBO and their audience aren't going to sit around forever waiting for Martin to finish it.

>> No.5777470

I will read it but I'm not hyped at all. With so many books to read and I was very disappointed by the three Dunk and Egg novellas, if WoW sucks, I'll drop the series for good.

>Dropping the series with one more book to go

Why not just finish it at that point?

>> No.5777480

He'll split ADOS into 2 books.

>> No.5777489

>>5777475
If you've read the three novellas, you'll understand the experience. The first was okay. The second a shit. And trying to finish the last one, which also a shit, was dreadful. And they are all just novellas.

>> No.5777501

>>5777480
No idea why is publisher hasn't convinced him to do that with WoW. They could release the 1st half now to satiate the fans and if he's got an end in sight for the rest it won't be too long for the part 2 and they make more by selling tw books. You know the thing is going to be enormous anyway.

>> No.5777506

>>5777501
What I meant was that ADOS will become two huge books, like how AFFC ended up split into AFFC and ADWD. And just like those, there'll be 6 years between them.

He is a shit slow writer, but it's an interesting world/story so I'm willing to stick around

>> No.5777569

>>5777548
Yeah, he's a sensational world builder. Regardless of the caliber of his writing I've become well and truly invested in the characters. I'd love to read an extensive encyclopedia detailing the history of Westeros.

Has anybody read the World of Ice and Fire? Is it an interesting coffee table book or garbage?

Fuck you, you whining faggots.
The Dark Tower went from 1982 to 2013
The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant went from 1977 to 2013.

How about you bitches stop bitching?

King was pumping out novels left, right and centre each of those years. What's Martin's excuse?

Also, CoTM had one really massive gap in the middle of a couple decades or something but all the rest have been released at a steady pace of only 1-3 years.

on a more serious note, you can check out
some chapter previews/releases on his website

Nah. I'd rather have the entire thing.

A Game of Thrones (1996)
A Clash of Kings (1998)
A Storm of Swords (2000)
A Feast for Crows (2005)
A Dance with Dragons (2011)
The Winds of Winter (2016)
A Dream of Spring (2021)
25 years total, it'll be. Only 7 more years to go.
A person who read the first book at 18 would be 43 when they finished reading. Truly a lifetime of waiting.

>> No.5777945

He looks kinda greasy and musty but now that he's in the public eye I'd wager he's at once a day. At worst I'd say he only does laundry once every two weeks.

>> No.5777949

>>5777945
He probably doesn't bother with showering at all: wouldn't want to alienate his fanbase.

His fanbase is probably now comprised of more than 50% average joe types with the success of the show.

2017 realistically, then he will die before ADoS and the show will become canon

I have. The prose is terrible (not GRRM) but it has a shitload of new information which adds to the worldbuilding and the artwork is bretty gud.
