The show is going to go in a different direction. They've already done enough things differently that they can go one way and the book can go another. HBO and their audience aren't going to sit around forever waiting for Martin to finish it.

I will read it but I'm not hyped at all. With so many books to read and I was very disappointed by the three Dunk and Egg novellas, if WoW sucks, I'll drop the series for good.

No idea why is publisher hasn't convinced him to do that with WoW. They could release the 1st half now to satiate the fans and if he's got an end in sight for the rest it won't be too long for the part 2 and they make more by selling tw books. You know the thing is going to be enormous anyway.

I have. The prose is terrible (not GRRM) but it has a shitload of new information which adds to the worldbuilding and the artwork is bretty gud.
