I grew up in earthquake zone, the regular elevators in cities still seem funny to me. I couldn't imagine having my own private elevator in a house that required one.

It really depends on what you want to do. In another thread you said you wanted to party, and in my experience it's all pretty much the same around here. Same music, same kind of people. If you go to BsAs you'll get most of the picture.
BUT. There are some hippie communes you might want to check in Cordoba. And the deep south has some communes too, you'll also get a sort of Oregon but with no one for miles and miles and miles. You have desert too, but if you want to go to Chile you have Atacama and nothing in the world competes with that except maybe Gobi (although even there it isn't as flat and infinite).
