If /pol/ cared even slightly about the truth, they would falsify, not verify.

This excludes the 90% of /pol/ which isn't based on anything, which can simply be passed by as pure horse shit

Well first of all you might want to read something along the lines of Fritz Riemann's book anxiety. Don't be putoff by the subtitle of the book which is cheesy as hell. The basic types of anxieties and fears he describes is what is worth checking out and it is what keeps people on /pol/.

Like every board on 4chan /pol/ is 80% full of shit. The other 20% is legit stuff which has the disadvantage that it comes with the same hate inciting narrative as the other 80%.

/pol/ is a place which confuses you about how you feel about issues and it offers the illusion of easy answers which make you feel secure.

However those answers are what you should look into particularly the stereotypes that they employ. If /pol/ says niggers are awful try meeting niggers. If /pol/ says women are shit try meeting women. About some people /pol/ will be right about some of them not.

What I'm trying to tell you is that /pol/ is right that the world is a confusing and probably scary place but the answers /pol/ gives you after making you affraid are just to mislead you into being a sheeple the prime thing /pol/ warns you'll become when not giving into /pol/.

Fear is not the answer, love is.

Treat /pol/ like any other mass media. Don't trust it and read Walter Lippmann's book public opinion. It's a great book on how any information is fed to you by any instance communicating with you.

/pol/ is a place to discuss things that don't fit within the spectrum of political correctnes, whatever it might be. You might find the most ridiculous of conspiracy theorists, the most hate-filled racists, yet you still find people with kind hearts who just consider that political correctnes hurts their freedom to express a few controvertial opinions. These are the posters who attempt to disprove rather than to prove, as they are mostly there to criticize that which can't be criticized.

I'm going to post this here and on /pol/ and then hush.

I came to this site eight years ago. I started off in /wg/ mostly and /r9k/ because I was a little shit head. Then one day I decided to go to /pol/ to see what it was like, and it was an absolute clusterfuck.
Arguments about every little thing and people called roody poos and jews at every turn. I thought it was funny and satiric at first. Who wouldn't? But then people started posting links to news stories, essays, federal documents, personal journals, everything, to back up their claims.
If you did your research, you'd realize /pol/ is right a vast majority of the time, sad as it may be. It made me seriously depressed to learn and see all this. I considered just giving up all together. But I kept at it and got through it. I learned more and tempered my judgement and beliefs.

What no one gives credit is how linked /pol/ and /lit/ can be. Read Kipling before and after /pol/. Read Asimov or Bradbury before and after /pol/. It broadens your awareness of undertones and themes in writing, and you can back up your beliefs with historicsl context and similarities to other writings.


You can shit on /pol/, saying it's the ass of 4chan, but at least you learn. At least you csn get an idea of the world and the people in it. St least what we learn can be used to better understand other things.


Better to be hated for trying to find the truth than sitting inside repeating the same old fables.
