It's ok. The punctuations and breaks are jarring, otherwise, it's consumable at most for when you really have nothing else.

Frenchfag here, I'm amazed to learn that someone took the burden of translating it.
Because the translator must have almost rewritten it, as this kind of work pushes the boundaries of langage.

To be honest, the french (and therefore, original) version is not really interesting to read.
The plot is meh, and the gymnastic to avoid the letter "e" is blatant. I mean, many sentences doesn't sound french at all, or in a painfully convoluted way, which screams "I tried very hard to get read of the "e" letter".

It is very far from "did you notice that there is no e".
To me it's "look at how painfull it is to write proper french without e".

On the other hand, Georges Perec is a Jew whose mother died in the Holocaust.
Thus the importance of "something missing" on a meta-level in his novels.

You may try to read "W" from the same author, which is another way of giving the feel of something missing.
Note that he also wrote the opposite: "les revenentes", where e comes back, but a,i,o,u have disapeared...
