I am seriously considering getting a tattoo on my lower back that says
Wie ein Hund!

Have you ever meet someone who had a tattoo and wasn't a pleb? Serious question.

I've never met a person I consider interesting or genuinely intelligent with tattoos.

The very idea of trying to "tell something to the world" by painting your skin is so primitive and... well, American.

I've met a few.
I think most people with visible/ostentatious tattoos, however, tend to be plebs.
This wouldn't be a "message to the world", it would be just a dumb sex joke joke, a clin d' oeuil to Kafka, which no one would see unless I wanted them to, in certain situations.
I am not an American, either.

I disagree. Appearance, or most particularly the way a human beings dresses, does not tell essential information about the likes and inner reality of a subject (except in cases where it is painfully obvious that a person is trying to show off a message; but even then, you can't really know). The fact that you care so much about the pleb/patrician judgemental dichotomy reveals your utter superficialy in this aspect.

He was a middle-aged guy living in a poor quartet, friend of a friend, who is extremely knowledged in philosophy, literature and cinema, plus dialectically gifted. He dresses in a ragged, alternative way as a means to diverge from bourgeois tendencies imposed by the appartus (many people, specially leftists in my country dress like this).

You seriously think tattoos are an american thing? Sort of just seems like a cheap shot that doesn't make much sense.

Other than that I agree. It just seems reckless and sophomoric. Most all I have seen have been hideous pop-culture references or something 'tough'. The only thing that can come out of it is labeling yourself to prove to everyone what terrible taste you have.

Sorry about the whole passive aggressiveness back there. Though you're probably still falling for the same mental pitfall as we did before.
>>5523613
I'm being sincere. I'm sure other people have similar thoughts, just that the other boards have far less allowance for hypermeta4chan-contrarianism, if that makes sense. Usually even the most contrarian opinion of 4chan usage on 4chan is un-selfaware or are only "contrarian" to everyone else who doesn't think the same as he does. So they're never sincerely contrarian, like in my earlier post, but only contrarian towards those not as patrician 4channers as they are, like the guy I messaged (in my mind at the time)-- newfags, the overly sentimental, those who take themselves or the board too seriously or not serious enough, etc, usually having to do with board culture.
Here "it's ok" for me to be self aware.

Which leads to a more disturbing conclusion then my earlier ones. I think I'm only explaining, and only, reflected on this to be validated. This is horrifying. Seriously, can anyone explain this shit?

I have 2 stick and pokes that I got while extremely drunk in college. I wouldn't pay for a tattoo, and I wouldn't have gotten these sober, but I'm satisfied with them as the haphazard nature makes them feel more personal and they bring back memories of the great times I've had with friends.
