And besides popularity (relatively high on this site) it's also not about how hard it is to truly appreciate a drawing. His works are intense enough that unusually many can enjoy them - but that's not the condition for being "entry level".

He's not trying to make some "paranormal" pics for an audience of /x/ - rather think of it as the output of a disturbed mind coming to terms with the weltschmerz of the horrors of WW2.
