Just finished this /lit/. Holy shit. Dat prose is just epic. One of the best books i've read. Your thoughts?

It one of those older horror stories that isn't really all that scary unless you allow yourself to go along with it and be scared, similar to Poe. Speaking of Poe, I was thinking the entire time that Fuentes was like Poe's long lost mexican cousin.

If you loved Aura, read "La Muerte de Artemio Cruz." I've never read the translations, so I can't suggest the best, but I'm sure if you check Hisp. Lit. Rev. you can find a quality paper/review.
