A muslim living in sin is still better than a devout Christian, y/n?

The claim that this has been stated by a Muslim auhority came up in a discussion earlier, and I feel like I've heard it before, but I haven't been able to find any sources, are there any knowledgeable people on /lit/ who might help me out?

Also, Islam general.

The fact a muslim would say such a thing only shows how backwards your religion is. You guys are literally still living in the dark ages. Please try to reach the 21st century like the rest of the world.

Dyslectic /pol/ pls go

I'm not a Muslim, nobody has stated with certainty that this is an idea held by most Muslims (and trying to find out if some do is the point of the thread).

No.

As a Christian is a people of the book they are just trying to reach god with a handicap (in this case a bad revision of the law). A devout Christian has much higher chance of entering heaven than a sinful Muslim.

It should be noted however that since the time of Ash'ari, Muslim theology has in general claimed that God saves whomever God wishes. A sinful man that atones at the last second might find himself seated next to a devout Mufti in heaven.

JIDF pls go.
Anyway, OP. As long as you're a good person, you'll always be better than a sinful muslim.

Every religion believes that OP. Otherwise there would be no point in following said cult.

No because there are no discernible grounds for claiming a person to be better than another.
