The last book I bought was probably a Research Methods textbook for one of my classes.

As far as books I read for pleasure, I believe it was either Leviathan by Thomas Hobbes or Red Dragon by Thomas Harris.

New hardback, as a set with a new hardback of Children of Hurin, which is now my second copy of that, but for the equivalent of USD 12 / GBP 8 / EUR 9 for both I couldn't pass it up.

In that case, you might want to have a look at his little book at

http://www.archive.org/details/authoressofodyss00butlrich

or

http://www.archive.org/details/authoressofodyss00butluoft

in which he famously argued that the Odyssey was composed by a woman.

I bought a lot of books last time, so I'll just list 'em off.

Feet of Clay
Mort
The Colour of Magic
Time Enough For Love
The Moon is a Harsh Mistress
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
Transitions of H.P. Lovecraft
Neuromancer
All the ancient Greek plays
History's Great Letters.

The last one is interesting; letters from famous historic figures like Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Napoleon, G Wash, etc.

I'm in the middle of a re-read of the rest of the series.

Started Book 10, manager at work dies, I get his position, haven't had time for more the 20 pages in 7 weeks.

At this rate, volumes 2 & 3 of aMoL will be out before I finish #13.

What makes it even worse is I have two Culture novels waiting as well, and one of them is Use of Weapons. grr...

I read this book while working a graveyard shift in another city a few months ago, and upon finishing I read the notes on the author and translator. This particular translator was born and raised in the same city in which I was working that night. It was pretty mind-blowing, trust me.
