What does /lit/ think of Douglas Coupland?

Is it bad that he's my favourite author? (speaking as someone who doesn't frequent this board.

What does /lit/ think of My Dick?

He makes me wince in pain at times when I read him.

I read Microserfs and enjoyed it. He's a nice light realist writer. Good for a deck chair between denser things.

When I read his stuff, it seems to me that he is not writing for the generation he is talking about. He is writing for the older people and that generations parents.

I read Jpod and it was OK.
I think it would've been a better read if Coupland condensed the book, structured it, maybe a plot. Who knows?
Maybe he didn't need to add 40 plus pages of computer chitchat and symbols. Who knows? Who knows?
