That's what makes it so bad. I recently cleared out my room and before throwing away all my video games, I tried playing some and couldn't last more than ten minutes with any of them. When I see movies or hear songs I used to like, I can still connect with them on some level, even if it's pure nostalgia, but with games there's nothing at all.

Most video games are pretty shit but the medium issn't inherently trash, just this teenage phase because guns and violence is an easy interaction thats been refined for a few decades now.

Vidya dev here. I obviously don't regret the games I played since my occupational focus is on them, but I don't play any vidya any more though. My entire time is dedicated to reading and studing, and I find that I am prouder and happier than I ever been playing vidya.

I'd stopped playing games for a long while but still had my 360 when Skyrim was released so bought it because of the hype and it, like all Bethesda games, is seemingly what you describe but after about an hour playing, it was just another game where you repetitively kill everything to win. The thing that bothers me the most is how I didn't get bored of vidya sooner.

I had every console between the Mega Drive and PS3 besides for the Dreamcast so played all kinds. Multiplayer is what I regret the least because I can remember a lot of fun times either with friends around the TV or over the internet but single player stuff just seems terrifyingly shallow now.

It's a highly surreal game about a shut-in passing the time exploring her bizarre dreams and collecting various mementos inside them. There is no story exposition whatsoever, so one pretty much has to figure everything out by examining the subconscious imagery contained with her dreams (for example, the weird reoccurring theme of Mayan artwork is a part I haven't been able to figure out yet).
