why does a man as based as quentyn have such shit taste in actresses

>> No.5251470

quentin comics are always so well crafted

i think the best thing about that is the obvious hypocrisy in his favourite book still being the one he read at a young age that he hasn't moved on from

>> No.5251497

>>5251470
Not to nitpick, and Quinten really was a scourge and a disease of /lit/, so I don't want to stick up for him--but, let us not talk falsely.

The comic says "one of my all time favorites", not "my favorite".

To show we're on the same wavelength, I gotta add:
Come to think if it, it was disgusting how often Quinten touted Fitzgerald's work. I don't mean "work" like body of work. I mean work like that one specific book. I doubt Quinten even read anything else by Fitz.

That's what makes it so bad. I recently cleared out my room and before throwing away all my video games, I tried playing some and couldn't last more than ten minutes with any of them. When I see movies or hear songs I used to like, I can still connect with them on some level, even if it's pure nostalgia, but with games there's nothing at all.

And now you see why some of us are so unbelievably turned off by the idea that money should be our first priority.

At least while reading, and hell, even playing vidya, we spend our time doing what we enjoy while we can, instead of obeying simply by a way of life thought to be right because it's the only one we have known, not mankind, but selectively ourselves and out perceptions.

You don't think back of the first time exploring Azeroth and just being absolutely overwhelmed by the sheer size of it, the seemingly endless world for you to explore, The friendly strangers who ran you all the way to Stormwind for the first time, from Darkshore, the first time you opened the AH and realised that your grey and white gear set could be replaced by green and blue, with weird stats like str and agility on it, the first time completing the stockades after trying it with 4 different groups and wiping everytime, with a jovial spirit?

The only thing I dislike is that I grew up and realised it was ''just a game'' with preprogrammed boundaries, rotations and BiS items. I'd love to have remained ignorant of all of it, and just feel satisfied riding my nightsaber around ashenvale forever, howling at the sunset.

Seemingly is the most appropriate word because it never is. I'd stopped playing games for a long while but still had my 360 when Skyrim was released so bought it because of the hype and it, like all Bethesda games, is seemingly what you describe but after about an hour playing, it was just another game where you repetitively kill everything to win. The thing that bothers me the most is how I didn't get bored of vidya sooner.

>>5254041

I had every console between the Mega Drive and PS3 besides for the Dreamcast so played all kinds. Multiplayer is what I regret the least because I can remember a lot of fun times either with friends around the TV or over the internet but single player stuff just seems terrifyingly shallow now.

No, Yume Nikki.

It's a highly surreal game about a shut-in passing the time exploring her bizarre dreams and collecting various mementos inside them. There is no story exposition whatsoever, so one pretty much has to figure everything out by examining the subconscious imagery contained with her dreams (for example, the weird reoccurring theme of Mayan artwork is a part I haven't been able to figure out yet).

What I'm asking is, have you been able to create a reasonable web of associations with the symbolism to expound a narrative worth consuming? The gameplay is pretty lacklustre, I know that much.
