forgive me if this is a retarded question, but should BOTNS be read continuously as one large novel? I just finished Shadow of the Torturer and I'm wondering if I should just continue on to Claw or if I should read something in between. I know they were published like a year apart, that's why I ask.

I know the answer is really "just read whatever you want, faggot", but I'm just wondering what makes for the better experience

from my experience, things doesn't even get exciting until Sev-chan joins Vodalus. Sure thing /lit/ maybe read something else in between.

isn't that kinda expected since Sev-chan always craved Vodlaus' dick?

>> No.5200162

Read it all as one, OP. It's one long novel cut into smaller parts. Also while you're reading it, don't come into any BotNS threads or Gene Wolfe generals because you'll get dumb fucks like the first anon who don't use spoiler tags.

>>5199909
Even if it was expected, what you said really doesn't have any bearing on what OP's asking. OP didn't ask when it gets interesting but you decided to tell us when it did anyway.

Make breaks between each part. One week minimum, and more before Urth. Trust me, I'm certified wolfiest.

Read it straight through, or else you risk forgetting stuff and not making connections (not that you'll get all the connections on your first read anyway, but you'll catch more).

Because he didn't know it was a spoiler till he read it.

Seriously. For a literature board, this board has some idiots.

>mfw literally every aspect of the entire BOTNS is just a retelling of American Sun God myths with random Christian and Arthurian parallels layered over a bland, uninteresting hero's journey storyline

Honestly I should have stopped reading this as soon as the dead girl said her name was Dorcas.

Yes, it's one long-ass book split into many parts so you don't strain your hernia hauling it around. Now that e-ink is a thing you'd be better off reading it as one large file.
