How do you go about writing a character, /lit/?

>> No.5152331

Start by describing their pointer finger.
Follow it through its day. What does it do? Does it go in anything? A coffee mug? A trigger?
What does it point at? Does it point in anger or to inform?
Is it often in pockets or out, moving wildly and articulately to help explain something?

don't write a character, use your mind uterus to give BIRTH to a character.

You can create a highly idealized version of yourself and fill that character with characteristics you consider to be your best.
You can create a highly negative version of yourself and fill that character with characteristics you consider to be your worst.

ARE YOU A PREMODERNIST?

>> No.5154953

I start with archetypes and deconstruct them until they are recognizably human beings.
