This is obviously a facetious point for reasons brought up earlier in the thread, but it brings up an interesting question. How much should thinkers and philosophers really ally with the left instead of the right?

It's abundantly clear the modern left cares little for truth, free speech or expression. Libertarians seem to be the only ones fighting these restrictions imposed by the left in service of their various social welfare projects. Even groups that used to champion them, like the ACLU, seem to have dropped free speech and expression issues.
