Let's talk about 2666. Thoughts on this beast? Favorite book?

I just bought but I haven't read it yet. I'm saving it actually cus it looks like a fun read (its a weird habit I have, don't ask). I bought it cus I'm fascinated with the southwest and was reading cormac's border trilogy and watching the show the Bridge and asked on here for similar books and someone recommended this one. Can you give me your thoughts on it without any spoilers?

It's pretty much one of the best things I've ever read
Keep in mind that you can read it in whatever order you want.

This and Confederacy of Dunces make me mad sad to think what could have been had the authors enjoyed a longer run.
It's a fine book.

The Part about the Crimes was probably the most powerful. Can't say it was enjoyable though.
I enjoyed the former Black Panther leader's sermon. Seemed Moby Dick-influenced.

I loved the shit out of that book. There were so many different stories all woven together. I wish I was smarter so I could articulate what I liked about books. I can't say exactly why but that book is one of the best I've read. My favourite book was the part about archimboldi although I also liked fate and crimes.

I liked the way it ended, you don't know what the guy is going to do but you know it's going to be good
