A tale of …

There once was a boy and a girl. They had met in a single room, what now seems to be ages ago.

She walks into the room and asks the teacher where to sit. “Behind him.” she says, pointing to a nice, shy 15 year old boy. She walks past him and sits down behind him, pulling out her binder; he turns towards her and introduces himself. She replies, both exchanging smiles. In the first week of meeting they had hit it off. Life was going great for the two of them. They had become best friends, with the strangest relationship. Whether the teacher was lecturing, showing a film, or if it was just study time, the two kids, just smiled and stared at each other. He thought she had fallen in love with him.

He knew he had. This continued for a week up until...

He had just gotten off the buss from home, walking up one of the staircases, just inside the school. He reached the top of the stairs, taking another 3 steps into the hall way before…
“Hey stranger!!!” ~ It’s the girl from class, already in a daze, he looks over, he sees one of the guys form the football team, standing almost shoulder to shoulder with her. He Smiles and looks down. He’s holding, her hand.
“Ugh, Hey! How’s it going?...”
“Good, he’s just walking me to class.”
“Oh, cool!”
“Yeah, well see ya!”

He steps aside, letting her pass, leading him down the stairs. He takes a step before turning around and exchanging looks with his team mate, he winks, he nods back. The shy 15 year old boy, turns around, and walks to class.

You need to work on your style; it's rather dull.
Your words should be more interesting.
Trying to make a story "emotional" like yours does not substitute quality writing.
Keep working on it

Was this 15 year old boy one of those special-ed kids they let sit in on the regular classes? Why did he think that smiling at a girl all the time made them best friends and in love?
