Can you recommend me some series like 'Sookie Stackhouse'?

/lit isn't really the place to discuss urban fantasy because /lit/ hates Genre Fiction, and is filled with a bunch of pretentious faggots, but heres my list of must reads from that genre.

The Rachel Morgan series by Kim Harrison
Elemental Assassin series by Jennifer Estep
The Asylum Tales by Jocelyn Drake
Dresden Files by Jim Butcher
Cassandra Palmer series by Karen Chance
The Nightside Series by Simon R Green

>Vampires
Cat and Bones Series by Jeaniene Frost
Chicago land Vampires by Chloe Niel
Morganville Vampires by Rachel Caine
Queen Betsy series by Mary Janice Davidson
Dark Days Series by Jocelyn Drake

>Werewolves and fairies
Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Biggs
The Others series by Anne Bishop
October Daye series by Seanan McGuire
The Incryptid series by Seanan McGuire

>>5040639
I should also add Codex Alera by Jim Butcher to that list

Good list but no Kitty Norville? Come on man Carrie Vaughn is kick ass

/lit/ hates both genre fiction, and women. so when you have something that's genre fiction whose main demo is women, welp

that said, good on you for actually recommending shit.

Normally I'd make fun of you for reading this crap, sookie stackhouse, not genre fiction. But >>5040639 has some really good recommendations in there, so maybe you'll get better taste.

I hate genre fiction, and barely anyone on this board would ever recommend a book let alone a list. I hate you for reading this shit, but commend you for helping someone. And since OP is too much of a worthless piece of shit to thank you. On behalf of this board I thank you for not being a faggot troll, and helping someone.

Good on you anon

And I know that this board is full of pretentious faggots, but I also know that 4chan, even being a nest of trolls is a good place to share and discuss, if you know how to do it ofc.

Anyone who denies it, is just aiming to become the next ultimate faggot.

Guys, I don't need your intellectual approval, so don't waste your time insulting me or other people, it won't work. If you need it to feel better is a different thing, a sad one, but still different.

Anita Blake was good until Obsidian Butterfly, hence why the "stop at Obsidian Butterfly".

After that she just over shadows any plot and development with take as many big cocks down her throat as possible and powering up men(and women) with her magic vagina. Fuck That Shit.

I have some of those downloaded, and I have read also some others.

With 'The Mortal Instruments' I am reading the second, 'City of Ashes' and I feeling a bit bored, maybe because I have been reading it very slowly or I don't know. I will give it another try in few days.

I think the reason I stuck with it was because of the implied incest... /lit/ had me on an incestuos rampage a few years ago, once some famaly member was taking the D I would have read it.

It's hard to chose only one, but I think maybe 'The Black Magician' by Trudi Canavan. Though it doesn't have that much romance.

>it doesn't have that much romance.

That's the thing, the majority of Urban fantasy doesn't have a lot of romance. People always confuse the sub genre of paranormal romance with urban fantasy because they're so similar. The key difference is paranormal romance has sex scenes

I should phrase this better. Paranormal romance has graphic sex scenes

The Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch is really nice. It's like the TV show Supernatural but not gay and very British. It's also a very nice love letter to the city of London itself with lots of history and geography.
