Just finished Hannibal.

Can we talk about the ending?

I just finished Red Dragon :)

Since I've only seen the movie I'll assume it's got an arm on the story.
>inb4 spoiler
This is the spoiler he doesn't really do the thing in the movie. Hey OP, while you're still here highlighting this, would you recommend those books or what? I've always wanted to read Silence of the Lambs, but I never got around to it since everyone I know told me that Harris's writing is really dry and not very fun at all. I would like to know what you think, should I do it or what?

Everyone you know is a shit. Silence of the Lambs is an excellent book.

Also its 'a big Amarone'. Enjoy correcting people on that one.

>Everyone you know is a shit
I've often suspected this, but I never dared to say it out loud.

silence of the lambs is good everything else he wrote is pretty shit tho

OP here. Yeah, read it, but space them out.

I read the first two novels last year in the summer, got a quarter of the way through Hannibal, the final one before getting burnt out. Space yourself, or you'll end up like me and not enjoy Silence of the Lambs as much as you should've.

>mfw Red Dragon and Silence of The Lambs were in David Foster Wallace's top 10 books of all-time
>seriously look it up

He hypnotises Clarice like fuck, plays on her daddy issues right the way through, etc. Harris writes about the common man, basically, only through a phase shift.

It's basically Lolita part 2.

Let's not.

Let's instead talk about how great Red Dragon and Silence were.

>> No.5031477

Red Dragon is one of the best movies out there. That one's basically just an array of fascinating characters, where Hannibal focused on the traditional *love* story.

>>5031477
Blind girl meets beast and is OK with it is a spinoff of that hypnotism by light at the end of Hannibal, btw.

>> No.5031485

I loved Red Dragon, the scenes were pretty terrifying for what they were but it was his descent(or in this case, ascent) to godhood that really hooked me.

Plus it's one of the few "crime" novels I'd pick up more than one.

Or it's the other way around, apparently, lol. Same mechanics, though.
