Pretentious as it might sound, I will (and have) spent up to twenty dollars extra to get a non-movie cover over a movie cover. It makes no sense - the words are the same - but I just cant stand them.

Am I the only one that cares more about the look of the spine?

I have the Cormac McCarthy novels with the hideous covers with a shitload of writing but the spines are all nice colours and match up really well. I spend more time looking at the spine on my shelf than the cover I never see.
