I think there's a Librerias Gandhi somewhere in Cancún, you should find what you're looking for there. Most of the books are pretty afordable, usually not less than 89 pesos and no more than 300.

Mexican yourself? What are some /lit/ related things you'd recommend someone who was going to be in Mexico City, Oaxaca, and Chiapas this summer?

I'm fluent enough in spanish if that matters.

In Mexico City vivit the Donceles street. Lots of used books, like miles of second hand book stores. Anything you could possibly desire lies there.

Either would be good. Cool libraries, good used bookstores, cafes with a good atmosphere, and the like would be good to know as well.

Well, my favorite books in Spanish are

Rayuela, by Julio Cortazar
La guerra del fin del mundo, by Vargas Llosa
Las batallas en el desierto, by Jose Emilio Pacheco
El principio del placer
Pedro Páramo

pretty much anything by Gabriel Garcia Marquez or Vargas LLosa is God-tier

in what city, Cncun?

There's a cafe/library in Mexico City called "El Pendulo" which is great, or go to Coyoacan, Condesa or Roma.
