Hey /lit/, I'm bored and I hate reading. But I've decided to give it a try this summer so I would like to see some recommendations on some good books, nonfiction please. Those good books that make you think and whatnot. Would appreciate it.

In college I took philosophy so I read Greek philosophy already. Pretty good stuff, just not satisfying.

if you don't like reading but want to get into it recreationally, you shouldn't read philosophy or anything like that.

read short, light, easy novels like bukowski or vonnegut. slowly get into deeper, longer stuff once you learn 'how' to read, if that makes sense.

Disgusting casual. How dare you come here and post this tripe. Who the hell do you think you are? Are you any kind of reader? Anyone know who you are?

This is the most important board on 4chan. You're no reader. Who the hell are you? Sucker. I graduated at the top of my class with a Phd in Reading.

I walked Bukowski up on stage. Who the fuck are you?

Cool guy, just not my cup of tea.

I've read short novels because of high school and other courses taken later on. They're good, it just doesn't catch my attention to continue reading.

Well I'm into chemical engineering, and I do study/read for that. Just want to start something different for a change. Hell, if you recommend Bukowski, I'll give it go.

Just looked it up and read some quotes; sounds good to me. I'll give a go. Thanks for that.
