Those books are silly. They're supposed to be in a contemporary setting and the internet plays a large part but Atwood only heard about Anonymous after writing the first two so there are some awkward references and mentions of "lulz" all of a sudden in the third. Also, secret websites are accessed by clicking on certain parts of images on public websites. Sometimes you have to click through several layers of images to find them.

Orange is the retro penguin colour. See this PG Wodehouse book from 1953 that I found in my mum's bookshelf. Later on they started having art on the front cover and switched to a solid spine of the same orange (most of the examples of this I've got are from the 80s).
