Lets say you walk into a store with no previously decided upon book to buy, how would you decide on what to read next? Should you look for specific authors? Publishers? Awards?

Do people honestly still do this?
The only time I would walk into a book store is if it was a cool independent one with a reputation for stuff that you can't find elsewhere except for online for inflated prices.

Yeah, I don't really have an address or a place so I buy a couple books at a time, donate them, then repeat.

I check all my usual sections. Classics, history, etc. I have a general idea of what I'm looking for. Particular authors and subjects, and well as specific titles.

When browsing. Just checking out a place. I have gone with a detailed list a couple of times to this somewhat far off place.
