Is there any clear way to get the jist of Kabbalah without the mountains of dogma and unsourced claims? It's a pain to try to read it.

Beyond that, I hear there are lots of different interpretations of the 11 sefirots but where can I read up on them all?

I'm interested in this as well. I only got a taste in Prometheus Rising and I want more.

Why so?

I thought it was a lot of fun to read. Naturally, I'm not sure what to make of it really.

Kabalah is not a book, but a very old and very diversified tradition.
So that's probably a no.
More precisely, try to know beforehand what you expect from the kabalah: do you study out of historical/literary interest or do you really want to pick up knowledge from it ?

> without the mountains of dogma and unsourced claims

I'm afraid it's bulk of the thing. You can't expect to climb a tree without having to make your way through its many branches.

You could start by learning some basic hebrew and getting your history straight. Then give a try to the big names (Sefer ha Yetzirah, sefer haZohar, Nahman of Braslav, Isaac of Luria...)

I'm looking for the general collective understanding of core concepts so I can grasp that and then move deeper. Don't assume.

The core concept is jacobs ladder and moving up said ladder to the crown which is unity with the godhead. Deeper meanings would be to tell you to look at the circles in the pic, the first the second and the third. Nothing in that pic is unneeded if you are at the level to understand it. a good place to start would be for me to tell you that the foundation would be where beasts sit, common man would be centered at Yesod, while the ideal of beauty and on is beginning to reach towards the higher strata of the ladder. also those words like greatness* are wrong close but wrong.

Kabbalah is just a set of explanations of various Jewish practices. There's literally no point in studying it if you aren't an orthodox Jew and it will have no meaning for you.
