I'm actually looking for something very specific
but since I know that 4chan doesn't like recommendation threads
and in order to make this topic useful for people beside me
I'm going to be as unspecific as possible.

I'm looking for melancholic novels.
Something that feels like autumn.

It should take place in the past.
Historical fiction or fantasy are both fine.

(I will also post some suggestions anonymously.)

ARE YOU THE SAME PERSON WHO "RECOMMENDED" ME "ELRIC" WHEN I ASKED IF THERE WAS A HYPERFEMININE COUNTERPART TO THE "CONAN" STORIES?

I am fascinated by the concept of a hyperfeminine counterpart to the Conan stories, simply because I'm not sure such a thing could actually be created.

Would it be a woman who wandered around a sword and sorcery world solving problems with the power of love and compassion?

I AM FASCINATED BY THE IDEA ALSO, WHICH IS WHY I WANT TO KNOW IF THERE ARE "WORKS" OF FICTION THAT REPRESENT IT.

GENERALLY, THE PROTAGONIST WOULD BE A WOMAN, AND THE SETTING WOULD BE ARKADIAN –DAINTY, SAFE, NOBLE, WHOLESOME.

The Silmarillion has some very melancholic if not outright depressing tales.
The Lord of the Rings as well to a lesser degree.

The Rose of Versailles perhaps?

You're not going to like this, but have you tried watching the first season of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic? The one Lauren Faust actually worked on? Equestria is Arcadian as fuck, and all the main characters are women.

THAT IS "GARBAGE"; BESIDES, IT IS A CARTOON FOR CHILDREN, AND THE PROTAGONISTS ARE NOT EVEN HUMAN.
