None proper, but I imagine vanity publishing is pretty popular round these parts. It's why you always get one or two guys acting up in self-publishing threads, they're scared that OP will find their book.

I've had poetry published and featured in a magazine, I've successfully self-published an album of original songs (100,000+ downloads). Everything else has been rejected by publishers. I've got novels and stories that I'm too afraid to submit because the rejection hits me so hard.

This was a few years ago, the site I used to host the material is long gone.

well did that album lead to any substantial popularity or success? It seems like an album with 100,000+ downloads has a solid following

No, because I published it anonymously.
Sometimes I browse my song titles on last.fm and I find profiles where people have listened to my songs hundreds of times in a month. A part of me wishes I had found some way to monetize the songs, but that seems a little dishonest. I guess I'm just happy people are listening, some artists never get that chance.

'they won't leave you where you're resting' is the most "popular" song. Googling it, the main result you'll get is some girl who did a really bad cover of it.

Is TAR even still...in existence?

That whole magazine seemed to fall down the shitter when Prole openly stated said he wanted to lower the quality of its content.

the real problem was drama with the staff and insufferable shitposting. One of the other editors is doing something or other with it now
