like cmon son, if you think this story is about Jesus losing his temper you clearly have no literacy in the book you are quoting. Nor are you arguing against it in good faith, especially since the passage that immediately follows it makes it obvious that Jesus' warning was well considered as well as unheeded.

the original Greek is (transliterated)
kai splagcnisqeiV ekteinaV thn ceira autou hyato kai legei autw qelw kaqarisqhti

and the Latin Vulgate is
Iesus autem misertus eius extendit manum suam et tangens eum ait illi volo mundare

The Greek is best translated into English as "And Jesus was filled with pity"; the Latin is closest as "and Jesus was filled with compassion"
He wrote "and Jesus was filled with anger"
Now, while one or two Protestant version have that translation it is both rare and long discredited; i.e., we know that it is an improper translation. A guy that claims to have been a Catholic then a mainstream evangelical Protestant would know that.

It's not that people don't want to be slaves. It's that it's taking away freedom and human rights. You know, the things EVERYONE is entitled to. And when one is put in complete control of a human being, it leads to some cruel and unjust treatment of the slave. It's also treating people as property when they are not. So there.

Is anything in comedy though? I mean, take Dave Chappelle, I find him absolutely hilarious, his main source of jokes is racial stereotypes/jokes and a story of Rick James, are they true? No. Are the words and manerisms heavily exaggerated? Ofcourse they are.

Comedy doesn't adhere to truth. Mockery is always exaggerated and bloated, and often taken out of context and not true to the facts. If it was, there would be no mockery.

I don't really know anything about the bible, but nothing seems awkward or weird about these, they're pretty straightforward stories.
My only real acquaintance with the bible was one time at camp with friends, reading some long ass, hilarious list of Seinfeld-esque rules as to when incest is and isn't okay. So if these are the best awkward moments the author can find, I doubt he's tying very hard.
