No idea. The subs are fine though, google it, adding "nyaa" finds any torrents available on that tracker and if there's any dubs they'll be there.

The voice acting in the dub will probably suck ass though.

It really isn't a fuck you to otaku culture. Otaku culture isn't always escapist. It IS a big fuck you to escapism, though. I'll give you that. Back in my less confident years, I used to repeat Shinji's mantra to keep myself on the right course. "I mustn't run away. I mustn't run away." The show has a beautiful message, no matter how you slice it. You deserve to exist. You are your own person. You are the master of your destiny. Delusions serve only to guide you away from reality and thus further away from humanity, yours and other people's.

I watched the first 7 or so episodes but just couldn't get into it. From the way the /a/ threads were and how much they lavished praise on it I really looked forward to it. When I finally got around to actually watching it it was just bleh. Dry, mediocre VAs, it had a certain dullness about it despite the 'epic' setting, and I wasn't impressed by the way things happened (e.g. oh no - we're losing this battle, call in Wang, Wang am genius, Wang causes something to happen and by virtue of being Wang it works! Wang is saviour of all, praise Wang (or whatever the hell that blue haired guy was called)) . I heard that the first 28 episodes or so, were the weakest but I really can't be bothered to drudge through all that just to get to when it starts to get 'good'. On the technical side it wasn't particularly impressive either.

At least NGE had fantastic animation for a show of that time period (shame about the budget problems near the end though) and has aged very well - the same cannot be said of LoGH.

LoGH doesn't really compare to NGE because most of the characters in LoGH are fairly one-note and standard. Still, being a history junkie I liked it. But yeah, Yang saving everyone all the time gets tiresome really fast. And it goes on for way longer than just 26 episodes, I tell you. Also, the female cast is atrocious. So bad that I wanted to fast-forward scenes with female characters since they were so fucking robotic.

Episode 80-100 is the show at its peak. Then it comes tumbling down, tumbling down. Space Napoleon was fun to watch.
