What are you're favorite adventure novels?

Any genre and setting.

Agree with Jack London, but Sir Arthur Conan Doyle has some great adventure stuff. I read The Lost World so many times as a kid, if you haven't read it and you're into adventure stories definitely recommended.

I've read some Sherlock novels but never anything of his other stuff. Might have to check it out, thanks.

No, you are correct in calling it trash. I forgot an h. Some fo my favorites include
>Warlords of Atlantis
>The Land That Time Forgot(1975)
>The People That Time Forgot(1977)
>Journey to the Center of the Earth(1977)
>At the Earth's Core(1976)
Just to name a few. A newer movie which captured these feelings perfectly was
>Land of the Lost(2009)
In general look for anything Jules Verne related and work your way up from there. Jules Vernes anything has a high chance of puppetmonsters and great adventures. as these movies are generally shunned they come in boxes usually and they are very cheap. In germany we are living through a revival of old movies. I can buy most of these for 10 euro in a box. May I ask where you live? Importing these boxes may be cheap then too. Otherwise watch them online. Englishspeakers have a big advantage in this case.

Ah, I see. I love some corny adventure movies too, well at least to a certain degree. The National Treasure movies are guilty-pleasures of mine but I don't think I could manage to sit through movies that are on the same level of Land of the Lost though. I'm from Sweden.

Do you prefer to watch with German dubs over original audiotracks?

The Egyptians first half and The Adventurer, but of course.

Easily the best novel ITT. Anyone who likes adventure novels and hasn't read this book should read The Long Ships immediately.

Yes, if it is possible I prefer my native tongue as the audiotrack. Germany has good synchronizations despite what contrarians say.
