So, /lit/. I have an idea. A novel that is both prose and poetry. It would have a plot and when the plot is moving and events are happening, the style would be prose. But details and feelings would be described in poetry. It would cut back and forth.

What do you think about the idea? Too jumpy, not stable enough? Or would the breaks be a good thing?

I feel as if pseudo-intellectual dilettante is an oxymoron. Anyone who goes to such great lengths to prove their "intelligence" in their craft wouldn't lack commitment, and anyone who has no commitment towards their craft will flaunt it very much.

They would probably be the type to lose their career in that field and then brag about how they worked in that field at one time for the rest of their life.

I asked about doing something similar to one of my creative writing teachers.
She told me that it is a terrible thing to do, it just breaks the flow completely and barely adds anything that couldn't be done in normal prose.

Have you tried to make it a chanson de geste?
