Read it slowly. It's gonna hit you like a ton if bricks but really it makes a lot of sense. Just slow down and pay attention and eventually you'll get used to the style. It's a great read man, good luck.

Yeah it's not just a bunch of random scenes. It's pretty episodical, but there is a plot. If you're confused at first, at least make it to the second part where it will start to make a lot more sense.

Here's a helpful hint to get you going, the book starts off in a train, and the first little scene is Pirate's dream. When he starts talking about sudden light or something, he's waking up.
