It really exceeded my expectations. I expected some mediocre spin-off, but instead it was more or less on the same level as the other Malazan books. I'm pretty much impressed.

Well, Night of Knives didn't exactly convince me that he would be able to write a good ~1000 pages novel. However, his writing has improved a LOT between NoK and RotCG, and he really worked wonders with some already established characters, so as I said - it's really a pleasant surprise.

And I'm currently reading 'Rage' by King.

Enjoying it too, and I liked The Running Man. I haven't seen the movie, but heard it's quite different from the novel.
