Is there a book that has changed your life?

In what way?

I think Ulysses helped me stop wasting so much of my time reading books.

The Bible.

I was out of rolling paper for my special cigarettes, but there was it.

I memorised the most common of Psalms because of this. The Lord is my shepherd, he bid me lay down in green pastures.

Someone gave me a book on the history of libertarianism. I don't consider myself a libertarian, but I credit the book with opening my eyes to other political thought beyond the republican vs democrat dichotomy. Of course I knew a little bit about other ideologies and historical parties, but not much. It really lead me to discover the wonder of political philosophy, which has also lead me to more general philosophy.

Care to elaborate a bit? I'm reading it at the moment and I have the opposite impression -- it motivates me to get into reading again after stopping a bit lately...

Its not edgy, its the truth. It fucks peoples lives up all the time. Common knowledge man.

Ayer's Language Truth and Logic opened my eyes on a few topics

>The Selfish Gene

It helped me to change from deist to atheist.

>The Myth of Sisyphus

This is imho the dead-end of philosophy.

>Stoner

I don't want to have end up like him, but I will probably do so and perhaps even worse.

I read Ramit Sethi's 'I will teach you to be rich'.
I got a charge on my credit card for going over the limit, I remembered reading something is his book about getting fees waived, called up the company and got the fee waived. It's full of useful personal finance shit, but I'll probably be dead long before it becomes any use to me.

Jim Wendler's 5/31, solid lifting program for when I'm bumming around and not looking to really push it.
