Hello /lit/
I'm a not much of a reader. I have spent the last few months reading The Hobbit before bed. Have pity.
I've had my interest in the Greek ideal piqued by this podcast by Dan Carlin named Hardcore History.
I checked the wiki, but there isn't really a "greek ideal" genre.
I'm open to things parallel to the greek ideal, because there have surely been other books written since then that carry the same spirit.

Will you recommend me a good read?

It's sort of like being right in mind, body, and spirit. A kind of balanced perfection forged through physical fitness, studying, being involved at church, etc.

I'm not so much interested in what it means to have the ideal, but more of something about people who have the ideal.

oh that

yeah most greek tragedies have that at its core

also the epics

they're not explicitly about it but they are. give oedipus or antigone a try.

That was one thing I was looking into, so I'll give that a try.
I'm sort of a noob at reading so won't ye olde scribes be a bit hard to get through?

Maybe try novelizations based on Grecian mythical heroes? I'm sure there are tons out there that follow Odysseus, Achilles, Jason, etc. and try to get into their heads. Or maybe read up on the myths around the heroes?
