Guys, I'm scared. I can actually relate to his thoughts, and have felt similar several times regarding work and society in the past. I'm glad I have a job that I can do at home now, but this makes me worried about my future. I guess it's time to work on my people skills or seek therapy, being like this must be a bigger impairment than I assumed at first.

It's a good story, though.

They can ban people they feel are breaking the rules, or they just respond to reports. The "mods are global" statement comes from the fact that they respond to reports for all boards and can moderate any board on the site.

But that said, the autistic posters like the one you responded to don't understand that mods have their own interests and certain boards that they actually like to spend time on. We have a mod here on /lit/ who likes to enact her own agenda, deleting and banning users at her own accord, not "just responding to reports".

Like, we have some mods who don't watch anime, but of course respond to reports on /a/ or /jp/, as mods are global. But they don't actually visit and lurk/post on those boards.

Here on /lit/ we do have an illustrious moderator who posts and lurks often.
