Hey guys. I'm starting do delve into the world of zen philosophy. Basically I've just listened to some Alan Watts talks and that's it. I'd just like to have some good reading material to give me a bit of an idea as to what this philosophy has to offer.
Thanks!

Read the Taoist classics. Taoism is the part of Zen that everyone finds interesting anyway.

Taoism isn't part of Zen.

Anyway, >>3890498 has the right idea. Zen Flesh, Zen Bones by Paul Reps is excellent.

OK, just forget about that deprived and evil form of buddhism, read In the Buddha's Words instead.

Er, Zen is the contact between Buddhism and Chinese Taoism, which was originally called Chan.

go to your local zen center or temple, talk to a teacher, sit regularly with them

ask them about books if you want, they aren't necessary

It doesn't have to be true to be a philosophy. In any case from what I've heard of it it seems to be mostly pretty logical.
